the weather has turned on us! but now there's a reason to take out those cute boots...i also love the fall 09 make up trends - with bolder colors...this girl was definitely rocking the pink shadow!
This man in particular was in a friendly mood - came over to observe the drawing! Apparently liked it...I loved the placement of the plastic bag against his hand and the plaid jacket!
Back to the 6 train - this time around I was fortunate to observe some interesting folding of fabric worn by my fellow travelers. I had lots of fun putting it all down on paper!
I was in Thailand in April and decided to do a series dedicated to local flora! :P Although I lived there for most of my life never really closely inspected or drew the flowers...so this time around I went all out and did close to 20 drawings...hopefully will come out as vibrant as the flowers themselves!
Using Dr.Phil Martin's Hydrus fine art watercolor as well as my russian watercolors :P

mutant ant story part 1
this is the first of 3 narratives that are going to be part of a simple animation. I wanted to create a trippy little world where unique species inhabit a strange island...
This blog has evolved into a study of people in transit. Whether it is on the subway, bus or people simply killing some time at a park before going to their next destination - I love to capture that moment.
I started sketching people in the city during college as part of a class. This turned into more of a hobby as I began to develop a certain style and approach to the drawings. I use a Sepia pen on a multipurpose drawing pad, drawing people in a short time span.
It involves patience, persistence and spontaneity as you never know when someone will decide to get off the train, change their sitting position or move because they feel like you are crowding their personal space.
I have found interesting patterns created by the way people sit and utilize their space while creating unique shapes and negative space.
I am a graphic artist who loves to experiment with watercolor, oil paint and the computer.
The style lends itself to a whimsical and surreal feel - which stems from a desire to mix traditional draftsmanship with surreal forms and patterns.
